New Design
The Mac mini 2026 retains almost the same design as the previous generation. The device keeps its familiar square shape with rounded corners and the same silver finish, while the enclosure is made from 100% recycled aluminum. The dimensions also remain unchanged: 12.7 cm wide and deep and 5 cm high. The base model weighs 0.67 kg, while the more powerful version weighs 0.73 kg. Thanks to its compact size, the Mac mini takes up very little desk space and is easy to transport when needed.
The port layout also remains unchanged. The front panel features two USB-C ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. On the back, there are:
- Ethernet;
- HDMI;
- three Thunderbolt ports.
The configurations differ in the generation of Thunderbolt they support. The M6 model comes with Thunderbolt 4, while the M5 Pro version features the faster Thunderbolt 5 standard.
Overall, there are no major design changes. The main updates focus on the hardware, including new chips, higher performance, and expanded connectivity options.
