A high-performance, lightweight notebook computer will benefit students of all backgrounds, even if your profession is far from computers and technology. After all, it is more convenient to write term papers and essays, surf the Internet, and watch movies on a big screen. And that’s not to mention the fact that telecommuting is becoming more popular every year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here’s why a Mac is the best choice for students and high school students.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reliable and durable<\/b><\/p>\n

The design of the MacBook enclosure is unibody, made from a single piece of aluminum. It’s lightweight and durable. And where plastic notebooks crack and break, a Mac will bend, chip or dent. And with heavy daily use, ‘injuries’ do happen to laptops. For example, from accidental bumps on a door frame, from being squashed by objects in a backpack, or from someone accidentally sitting on the device. A Mac is not immune to damage, but in such cases, <\/span>aluminum is a better material than plastic<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apple has been releasing updates to macOS for 7-8 years. These include new features, bug fixes and security updates. The exceptions are the outdated PCs which are no longer distributed more than 5 or less than 7 years ago. For example, some Mac models from 2013 to 2016 are now considered to be obsolete. They will forever remain on macOS 12 Monterey \u2013 not too bad for “old timers”, isn\u2019t it?<\/span><\/p>\n

That’s why <\/span>even older Apple computers are sold for a decent amount<\/b>. Not so with Windows laptops: after a year of use, they lose a lot of value. A Mac expands its capabilities even further when you use it with other Apple devices. The ecosystem brings them all together in a single organism – one where everything is connected and in sync. Copy a text, link, or photo to your iPhone and instantly paste it to your Mac. Use your iPad as a second display for your Mac. Or start reading a story in your browser on your Apple laptop, then turn it off and leave the house. And continue reading from the same place on your iPhone.<\/span><\/p>\n

Music, photos, videos, files, passwords, calendars, contacts and other data are linked. Apple’s ecosystem is top-notch and <\/span>makes everyday tasks much easier<\/b>. So much so, in fact, that it’s rare for an Apple user to switch over to something else.<\/span><\/p>\n

Built-in apps for most learning tasks<\/b><\/p>\n

Unlike many competing computers, a Mac is ready to go right out of the box. It comes preloaded with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. And they’re not just software you put on the shelf. These applications have <\/span>really cool functionality<\/b>, and they don’t require you to buy a license to run them. There’s also a basic photo editor and iMovie for working with video.<\/span><\/p>\n

What’s more: macOS is well thought out and therefore very handy. You can keep electronic notes in your notes and instantly add pictures and audio to them, for example, a snapshot of a whiteboard with formulas or charts. To do this, just press <\/span>File > Paste from iPhone > Snapshot<\/span><\/i>. Or insert audio from a lecture into your document. Your files <\/span>will be accessible on all your devices<\/b>, so you can view them even when your Mac isn’t around.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another useful feature for studying is Spotlight. Search across all your documents, folders and emails. Want to see content from the previous academic year? Just type in the word or phrase you’re looking for and the computer will find all the files it appears in. If you do not want to take notes but may need them, take dictation. Activate this feature and enjoy how your Mac records your teacher’s speech, converting it into text.<\/span><\/p>\n

Runs for up to 21 hours on a single charge<\/b><\/p>\n

Besides being perfect for studying, a MacBook is also ideal because you don’t have to depend on electricity. And the new M1 and M2 chips are more energy efficient than Intel.<\/span><\/p>\n
